Helping Survivors
It’s important to be observant if you suspect child sexual abuse is occurring. There are several signs that a child may be experiencing sexual abuse.
These signs may manifest physically, behaviorally, or emotionally. A child’s response will be unique, and not all of these indications may be present. Visit Helping Survivors to review signs of sexual child abuse and what to do if you suspect it.
Mayerson Center
Each year, the Child Abuse Team at the Mayerson Center treats more than 2,000 children for whom abuse is suspected – an average of six to seven alleged or suspected abuse cases a day. Along with physicians, nurses and social workers, their team includes Cincinnati police and sheriff’s officers, Department of Job and Family Services workers and staff from the Hamilton County prosecutor’s office.
